Since June, as part of a Brandeis Institute project, we’ve been monitoring tens of thousands of social media posts by Israeli politicians from all parties. With the upcoming elections, the goal is to identify and report infringements of election campaign laws. Working alongside legal experts, we’ve identified thousands of violations, with the unmarked use of AI being one type of infringement, but not the only one, and not even the most frequent one.

This WSJ article sheds a bit of light on our project, and mostly on the gap between what’s really happening online and what the legal system is able to handle.
